25 years ago today, on 14 May 1995, WWF held their first ever In Your House PPV from Syracuse, New York. These events were typically aired in the months that WWF was not holding one of its major pay-per-views, and this particular show was the first in a series of 27.

Notable matches on the card included Bret Hart vs. Jerry Lawler and The Smoking Gunns vs. Owen Hart and Yokozuna, in which the latter retained the WWF Tag Team Championship. The main event match was Diesel vs. Sycho Sid for the WWF Championship, in which Diesel would retain due to disqualification.

The event also inspired the computer game WWF in Your House.  It was released for the Playstation and Sega Saturn in 1996 and unusually, was more comparable to a fighting game than your typical wrestling game. Check out the video below for a dose of nostalgia!

In Your House was eventually axed in 1999 to allow the company to install permanent branding to each of their monthly pay-per-views, however, just yesterday WWE announced that they will revive the event for their NXT brand, which will be aired next month on 7 June.
