On this date in 2000, WWF held their first ever No Way Out pay-per-view. Broadcast from Hartford, Connecticut, the event aired 11 matches. The card included Kurt Angle vs. Chris Jericho for the Intercontinental Championship, and Edge and Christian vs. the Hardy Boyz - one of their many matches in a feud that would continue for well over a year.
The main event saw Cactus Jack forced to retire after Triple H defeated him in a Hell in a Cell match to retain the WWF Championship. His retirement doesn’t last long though, and he is brought back as Mick Foley three weeks later to take part in the fatal four-way elimination match for the WWF Championship at Wrestlemania 2000 against the Big Show, the Rock and Triple H.
